I Was Skeptical, But This Is Real
Full disclosure: I thought this was going to be some kind of gimmick. "Rainbow patterns in ashes" sounded too good to be true, like one of those things that's all marketing and no substance.
But after my cat Pixel died, I kept thinking about it. I'm a science teacher, so the idea that there was actual optical physics happening intrigued me enough to try it.
I'm so glad I did.
What arrived wasn't some filtered Instagram effect or AI-generated art. These are genuine photographs of crystal structures grown from Pixel's ashes, captured under polarized light. The patterns are REAL. You can see the crystalline formations, the way light bends through them differently in each image.
Each one is completely different - some look like stained glass, others like nebulae. My favorite one is now matted and framed on my desk at school. My students ask about it constantly.
This isn't mystical woo-woo. It's legitimate science applied to something deeply personal. This company clearly knows what they're doing in the lab, and the process is exactly what they describe.
If you're on the fence like I was, just do it. It's worth it to see something this beautiful come from something so sad.

Our Girl's Light Still Shines
We lost our golden retriever Daisy after 14 beautiful years together. She was my daughter's best friend growing up, and saying goodbye was devastating for our whole family.
I found Ashes to Artworks on Instagram and was immediately drawn to the idea that there were hidden patterns in her ashes. It felt like a way to see her differently - not just remember her, but discover something new about her even after she was gone.
The whole process was so thoughtful. Ptim answered my questions quickly and made everything easy. I mailed a small amount of Daisy's ashes and a couple weeks later got four incredible images back.
The colors are absolutely gorgeous - golds and blues and purples swirling together like a sunset. We framed the biggest one for our living room and my daughter has one in her college dorm. She says it makes her smile instead of cry.
I love that 5% goes to animal shelters too. Feels like Daisy is still helping other dogs find homes.
This was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.
